Believing and Enjoying the Love of God

…(Your name), let yourself believe, love, and be thankful for the truth!

…I don’t have to do some righteous thing before I let myself believe God loves me—it is safe to trust the goodness of God.

… God’s love for me is not overcome by how bad I have been. It is purity that I love, and I am miserable when I sin. So, I turn my heart to thrill myself, embracing the nearness of God’s holiness instead of temporary pleasures from sin. Thank You, God, that Your holiness and love are stronger than my sin. I present my need for cleansing before You, Lord.

…I repent of trying to justify God’s love for me. I can draw near to God by trusting Him to draw because Jesus earned the acceptance and love of the Father on my behalf. I rest into letting God’s love touch me all around, and I am letting myself enjoy the blanket of His love as what reassures me right now.

…I repent of wanting to be proud of my human goodness before I let myself believe God loves me! By faith, I can present my body before the radiance around God and enjoy the touch of His cleansing love.

…Because Jesus told me to “abide in” His love (John 15:9), I don’t have to (example of some good behavior ) to keep myself inside the love of God showered down all around me here. Because Jesus earned it for me, I repent of trying to earn God’s love!

…I repent of trying to find security through disbelief about God’s love! Heart, hear this, and be receptive. Let yourself enjoy the touch of God’s love and His purity all around!

…I delight that it is safe and right for me to rest and openly receive God’s love. I grab my soul, and I turn it away from believing lies from the devil about God’s love for me! I turn away from fear about needing a perfect performance to maintain God’s love. I submit to my need to experience God as my God. The touch of His nearness is the perfection I crave, and nothing else can satisfy me. Right now, Lord, I am trusting that Your presence is all around me, touching me, and I rest in believing that You are right here loving me without reservation or holding back.

Lord, I delight to draw near to You—it is safe and thrilling to hide myself in the love that You shine upon me from Your face…

“May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you” (Psa. 33:22 NIV).

“…love is from God…” (1 John 4:7); “…God is love, and the one who abides in love, abides in God…” (1 John 4:16). I hide myself inside the substance of Your love because You said to “…abide in My love.” (John 15:9); “keep yourselves in the love of God…” (Jude 1:21). (pause to hear, believe, and love the truth!)

…(Your name), let yourself believe, love, and be thankful for the truth!

…I set my heart to love and enjoy that Jesus commands me, “…abide in My love.” (John 15:9). So right now, Lord, I am resting in the truth about Your love touching me and staying all around me – and I am letting myself enjoy it.

“…the Lord is good and his love endures forever, his faithfulness continues…” (Psa. 100:4 NIV); “…great is your love toward me…” (Psa. 86:13 NIV); “O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” (Psa. 34:8); “…none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.” (Psa. 34:22); “…He has not despised…the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from him…” (Psa. 22:24); “…the Lord loves His people…” (2 Chron 2:11); “I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me” (John 17:23); And right now, I am letting myself enjoy the love of God touching me all around.

“‘For as the waistband clings to the waist of a man, so I made the whole household of Israel and…of Judah cling to Me,’ declares the Lord, ‘that they might be for Me a people, for renown, for praise and for glory; but they did not listen.’“ (Jer. 13:11). (pause to hear, believe, and love the God who is close!)

“…the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves you.” (Deut. 23:5). “…He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zeph. 3:17 NIV); “…the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.” (Psa. 149:4). (pause to let your heart hear these truths and treasure them!)

…I set my heart to rejoice in the truth that God’s love for me is not because of what I do for God. I repent of self-effort aimed at subtle ways of earning God’s love so I can use what I think I deserve as a reason to honor and praise myself! It is God who is worthy of praise, not me.

…Heart, rejoice that God’s love for me is not because of pity. Because God is love (1 John 4:8), I rest into receiving the touch of God’s perfect and good love abiding in me and all around. Heart, if I hold back from the nearness of God’s love, my unmet need for love will eventually overpower me, and I could feel pressure to find love in sinful places.

…I repent of fear that keeps me holding back from faith that believes with childlike freedom and joy that God’s holy and pure love pours out from Him, upon me so I can abide in His protective love. (determine that you will repent by joyfully directing your heart into faith and freedom about abiding in the touch of God’s love lavished around you here.)

…Heart, rejoice in the truth that no amount of perfect effort will ever earn God’s love for me. God’s love for me is great, and I experience it just by believing God loves me (2 Cor. 13:14).

…Heart, rejoice in the truth that I don’t have to protect myself from believing God loves me—it is safe and good to believe God’s love for me is real.

…(Your name), let yourself believe, love, and be thankful for the truth!

…I don’t have to do more to possess God’s love. I rest into receiving His love lavished onto me by the continual blast from the radiant fountain of God.

…I don’t have to earn God’s love by being more impressive to Him than other people. I embrace the truth about my desperate need for the nearness and touch of God’s love. I turn my heart to believe He loves me so I can receive and rest in that love.

…Heart, rejoice that I don’t have to believe the enemy’s lies about God’s love. I denounce the fear they push on me about relying on God’s love! (pause to remember that God’s love upon you reassures you and removes your fears!)

…I repent of having to protect myself with disbelief about God’s love for me. I repent and turn away from believing I could fail and then lose God’s love! God’s love is what I wrap myself in and reassure myself with. Right now, I trust that God’s presence is all around me, and I rest, believing He is here, touching me with His perfect, holy, and righteous love. (pause to enjoy resting by faith inside the hoy and pure love of God all around you here.)

…Heart, rejoice in the truth that God’s love is perfect enough to cast out my fears! (1 John 4:18)

…Heart, enjoy the truth that God’s love for me is patient and kind! (1 Cor. 13:4 RSV)

…Heart, rejoice that God’s love looks for ways of being constructive with me! (1 Cor. 13:5a Phillips)

…Heart, enjoy that God’s love for me is not irritable and is never touchy! (1 Cor. 13:5 TLB)

…Heart, rejoice in the truth that God’s love for me is not condemning in any way! (Rom. 8:1)

…Heart, rejoice that God’s love for me is never like a roaring lion seeking to devour me! Only the devil does that (1 Peter 5:8)!

…Heart, be comforted by letting yourself believe and love the truth that God knows everything about me, yet still, He deeply loves me – I cannot escape it! (Psa. 139)

…Heart, rejoice in the truth that God’s love does not decrease when I fail! (1 Cor. 13:8; Rom. 5:8; Rom. 8:36-39)

…Heart, rejoice in the truth that God’s love for me does not increase when I succeed! (Eph. 3:17-19)

…Heart, enjoy the truth that God’s love for me is good. Lord, Your love for me is good enough for me to trust! (Psa. 34:8; John 15:9).

… God’s love for me is jealous of the idolatry in my heart. But God’s love isn’t selfish. We get jealous when we can’t get something we want. God gets jealous when He can’t give. (Exo. 34:14; Isa. 30:18; Psa. 84:11,12).

…God does not abandon His people; “…the Lord will not abandon His people, Nor will He forsake [us, as] His inheritance.” (Psa. 94:14); “…the Lord will not abandon His people on account of His great name…” (1 Sam. 12:22); “…I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” (Heb. 13:5); “…those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” (Psa. 9:10). (pause to enjoy resting by faith inside the holy and pure love of God all around you here.)

MORE

…(Your name), let yourself believe, love, and be thankful for the truth!

…Thank You, God, that I can trust I am presenting before You my pride and lofty thoughts that rise up against the knowledge of Your love for me. I present the demons, witchcraft, and religious people before You who push me toward pressure to perform, doubt, and fear about Your love for me. I present before God any demons trying to push their fear of God’s love onto me here. I bind these things’ power, influence, authority, and effectiveness to keep me from believing God’s love for me is personal. I loose the mountain of God, the kingdom of Heaven, and angels onto these things to crush, burn, and destroy the works of the devil and my pride that keeps me away at times. Thank You, God, that Heaven is coming and is here and that Your rule and reign are more fully established by my receiving Your kingdom and presence here.

NEW BOOK

Barry Hall’s first book, Receiving God’s Kingdom by Joyful Repentance, will help you to recognize the practical evidence of how we try to fill our need for God’s presence and kingdom with what we get from worldly substitutions, other people, sinful behaviors, and ourselves. It explains that in doing this, we receive pride that we put on like a coat around us for identity. Without realizing it, we put faith in our pride and try to abide inside it for protection, strength, and worth instead of receiving God’s kingdom and presence as needed. This book also explains repentance as a joyous process that changes our minds one step after another as we listen to ourselves, making bold and joyous declarations of repentance and faith.
